My neighborhood bodega, the H & J Food Depot, located one block from my apartment. Like most such establishments in Manhattan, it is open 24 hours. I buy far too many food and beverage items here instead of in more economical supermarkets (for example, I susually stop in here on my way to the gym to pick up a bottle of Smartwater) . . . I am a sucker for the convenience.

But despite my frequent visits, I couldn't remember the name of the place (I always just think of it as "the deli"), and had to refresh my recollection by reading the name off the awning. Isn't that the way it is with all bodegas? :)
