Tomato Leaders

Tomato Leaders
Cargado originalmente por Federico Alberto
At each of the tomato farms visited, the manufacturer purchasing the crop described the efforts pursued jointly to raise productivity and quality. Present, the highest political and business leaders of the agricultural sector. From left to right, my good friend and colleague Quilvio Cabrera, Director General of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (the government body responsible for agrarian reform in the Dominican Republic); Salvador Jiménez, Secretary of State for Agriculture; and Felix García, Chairman of the Dominican Manufacturers' Association of Preserved Agricultural Products (AFCONAGRO). At the microphone, the Chairman of Linda Products, one of the largest Dominican manufacturers of tomato paste.

Quilvio Cabrera was killed in a tragic car crash Sunday, 13th April 2008. Thanks to his invitation I was able to participate in this unforgettable moment, which allowed me to take so many wonderful pictures.
