"Open Market" Day in Laoag City means the streets surrounding the public market is also occupied by vendors. It was in the middle of summer (my birthday, to be precise) when I took this. Will a cabbage patch in her head help her beat the heat? :-)

Pamulinawen 2008 - Grand Parade-2
Taken during the Grand Parade of the Laoag City Fiesta, aka Pamulinawen Festival. February 2008
---
In the sled above are: unmilled rice, green "saba" bananas, a sack of rice (probably), yam bean, and corn.
In the sled below (from top to bottom): "lakatan" and "saba" bananas, banana blossom, jackfruit, white gourd, and sugarcane. The vegetables in the bamboo tray are the main ingredients in the favorite Ilocano vegetable dish, pinakbet (string beans, bitter gourd, finger peppers, okra, eggplant, lima beans, and something we call "rabanos.")
